JONATHAN NOON

ABOUT JONATHAN NOON

Jonathan Noon (b. 1985) is centrally focused on figurative realism particularly of the American West.  It is these landscapes, this period of American history which tell the stories he feels are most emblematic of who we are and from where we came.  It is also the southwest region of the United States he grew up and matured as an artist.

Trained on the French atelier method, Jonathan completed rigorous studies at Boston’s Academy of Realist Art.  He combines the academic-style that stresses draftsmanship with contemporary expressions of light and mark making.

Jonathan currently resides in Arizona with his wife and one year old son.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

As an artist, my work is a reflection of my deep appreciation for the masters who have come before me as well as modern masters – their excellence has been a wellspring of inspiration, guiding my creative journey.

In every carefully crafted detail, I strive to capture the essence of human emotion and experience. My paintings are a celebration of all that is virtuous about us - our beauty, vulnerability, and strength.

Through my work, I aim to transport the audience to a world where history meets the present, where classical meets contemporary. I hope you find as much joy in experiencing my paintings as I do in creating them.
